Amaryllis grown outside
on Dutch soil

A first in the world of amaryllis, an amaryllis grown outside on Dutch soil that is available throughout the year and is among the world the most sustainable bulb cultivations.
Planted in spring harvest in fall

The bulbs are planted outside in April and harvested in the fall. Thanks to years of dedication and experience, we can force this amaryllis bulb into bloom on water trays in the same manner and using the same water trays as is done in modern tulip forcing.

Low energy consumption

Our amaryllis already starts growing at a soil temperature of 11°C. The Park Amaryllis selections are grown outside in the field using less than 5% of the energy consumption used for glasshouse-grown bulbs.

Low Ecological Footprint

Since we do not have to dip our bulbs into plant protection products and we reduce the use of these products to an absolute minimum during cultivation, our ecological footprint is minimal and, needless to say, we also save on production cost.

Cut flower, potted and as dry bulb

All Park Amaryllis selections are suitable for cut flower production, potted bulbs and as dry bulbs and meet the highest quality standards. The BKD inspects them by the same standards as bulbs grown in glasshouses; they are, therefore, of comparable high quality. The amaryllis bulbs from Park Amaryllis is a guaranteed quality product.

The Amaryllis Innovator
Introduction

35 years ago, Ludwig & Co. began importing and breeding new amaryllis selections from South American origin. These grew in a colder climate.

Ludwig & Co. already had many years experience in breeding and production of amaryllis in glasshouses. In 2002, Holland Blumen Markt joined forces with them to breed amaryllis on a large scale.

This collaboration resulted in the creation of Park Amaryllis V.O.F. in 2005. Each year, a selection is made from 25,000 seedlings. In 2015, these strict selections led to the first cultivars that meet all requirements of the existing large-flowered range.

The first selections are now in production and introduced into the market.
